BLAME
September 19, 2026
The last two days have been pretty personal.
TRUST and TIME both came from parts of my own life, although from very different places.
BLAME didn’t start there.
This one started with me being pissed off at the world around me. Or more specifically, at what we have allowed a part of it to become.
I was thinking about social media, our phones, data, corporate greed and what all of it is doing to us. Especially kids who are growing up in a world where this has never not existed.
We have somehow managed to connect almost everyone to everyone else, while at the same time becoming increasingly disconnected from the people standing right next to us.
That contradiction bothered me.
So I started writing about it.
We built a place we didn’t need We shared it all, yet stood alone And traded life to fill our feed In a world inside our phones
At that point I thought I had a pretty good idea what BLAME was about.
The problem was that the longer I wrote, the harder it became to pretend I was standing outside any of it.
I use the same phone. I scroll the same feeds. I give away the same data. I get annoyed when someone sitting next to me disappears into a screen while probably doing exactly the same thing myself ten minutes later.
And we’re releasing music into the same algorithms I’m criticising.
So who exactly was I blaming?
That question changed the song.
